JOB PURPOSE:

This role’s top priority is to drive the revenue goals of the Company by positioning our product as the best solution to achieve our customer’s vision of success. Reporting to the President, the Account Executive works with customers and partners to identify state and local government agencies who are a good candidate for our product, and progress those deals through the sales pipeline to closure.  As we are rapidly scaling our business, we are looking for an individual contributor that can roll up their sleeves and contribute to our growth, as we will invest in their career growth with the company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a high-volume and fast-paced position. The ideal candidate will thrive if they have worked in this setting before. The ideal candidate not only has excellent writing skills but strong interpersonal skills to build rapport across the company with various departments and team members.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Driving quarterly and annual revenue targets for US central territory sales, by:
    • Owning your pipeline to ensure long term, consistent performance in quarterly/annual quota achievement
    • Building a comprehensive territory plan that outlines strategy to secure new prospects
    • Generating leads, qualifying and managing them appropriately
    • Identify and build relationships with essential decision makers in target permitting and licensing organizations
    • Closing contracts and transitioning opportunities to the implementation / solutions teams to move forward
    • Accurately forecasting opportunities for a rolling 18-month cycle
  • Learn and maintain expert knowledge of the BasicGov products, the permitting and licensing industry, competition, market happenings and trends, and the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Working with key technology and system integration partners, and expanding our footprint with them
  • Efficiently, creatively and competently managing roadblocks
  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • 5+ years of experience selling enterprise wide solutions (both software and services) to U.S. state and local government agencies
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Proven record of sales success and industry domain knowledge – a track record of quota achievement and an established network of State and Local government contacts, plus an understanding of the personas in these organizations, specifically in the area of permitting, licensing or regulatory enforcement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent presentation skills
  • Strong client relationship management and customer service skills – solution oriented
  • Ability to build a shared understanding of customer needs and motivations among members of cross-functional teams
  • Energetic and creative
  • Curious with excellent listening skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and work independently with little guidance in a fast paced, lean, changing environment
  • Familiarity with Cloud Computing and SaaS is an asset

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Proposal Manager to lead and manage the cross-functional proposal process end to end, from developing strategic messaging through writing and editing, to submission and ultimately selection. This role will collaborate directly with the sales and product teams to propose the best solution for the end-customer. The Proposal Manager will possess excellent writing skills and ideally has past experience with proposal work. We are looking for someone who is able to research and understand our product/services and client requirements, then translate that understanding into concise, clear, and compelling content.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Manage the end-to-end process for preparing and delivering proposals in response to customer requests and in complete compliance with specific government procurement requirements.
  2. Prepare formal, detailed, and comprehensive proposals for multiple state and local governmental agencies.
  3. Search relevant bid aggregator sites for potential opportunities.
  4. Draft, edit, and finalize proposals for submission to clients; manages production and delivery throughout the entire proposal process.
  5. Conduct market research and work with subject-matter experts to gather content for proposal responses 6. Maintain proposal content database i.e. sourcing and uploading case studies, standard templates, and other related materials.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of proposal writing experience (or similar) including direct experience with EOI’s, RFP’s and RFQ’s as well as other forms of tender documents.
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, English, Communications, Journalism or other relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of local/state government business processes in permitting, planning, and enforcement activities, preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals in a fast-paced environment and deal with changing priorities.
  • Ability to critically analyze written content against requirements to create compliant and responsive proposals.
  • Ability to turn conversations with subject-matter experts into client-focused content.
  • Clear and professional communication within all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Loopio, Google Suite, and Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with management and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and manage people and information to create best in-class documents under pressure: demonstrated ability to quickly change tasks as demands change.
  • Excellent English business professional writing skills, ability to communicate effectively and persuasively.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead and create clear and impactful product strategies, processes, and innovations that drive business value. You’ll be working directly with the leadership team (Co-CEOs, President & Chief Strategy Officer, CTO, VP Development) and with adjacent teams to prioritize and build a world-class product.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be seen as a collaborative leader across the organization and a subject matter expert in our product’s capabilities, value propositions, and the needs of our customers. Your focus will be prioritizing a roadmap for permitting and licensing solutions and executing with team-members on delivery.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth of BasicGov and an entire industry by solidifying BasicGov as the best solution for large cities, states/provinces and counties. The role is based out of Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Design and prioritize a roadmap balancing short-term business goals with long-term vision and strategy
    Work closely with Leadership to set the medium-term strategy for the product
  2. Effectively synthesize data from customers, competitors, analysts, and commercial activities into meaningful signals that inform and validate hypotheses
  3. Set, track, and be accountable to OKRs at both a project and product level
  4. Build and refine scalable processes for product discovery, prioritization, and execution
  5. Create and implement a Customer Discovery program
  6. Collaborate with Development team to deliver products and with Sales and Tech Support to drive business value
  7. Represent the product & roadmap priorities in an approachable and collaborative spirit, including with senior-level internal stakeholders and with customers
  8. Guide product development in an agile environment, working closely with a team of top notch developers
  9. Wear many hats and continuously learn and adapt on the job

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of software product management experience at high-growth companies
  • Experience working in a small to medium tech company
  • Passion for improving the government’s use of technology (direct permitting and licensing experience is a plus)
  • Experience in product discovery and agile product development
  • Familiarity with Salesforce cloud is a plus
  • Strategic: Ability to drive product roadmap decisions, design processes and programs and work with executives on objective and key results planning and tracking
